After drawing Elvis every day for a year in 2008 and a celebrity birthday drawing every day the following year, it was time to take a long (if not permanent) break from another personal project like that.

But lately I've grown tired of preaching to myself about how I need to paint more. So why not finally do so by getting into the spirit of Halloween? As was the case with the daily drawings for 2 years, I don't expect all of these to be winners, but the point is to get a better grasp and control of the medium.

So here is Day 1, done in acrylic on blotter paper, roughly 6" x 6".

Bob's Bug Boy

Still debating whether or not to do a series of these. It started with a "Wolf Boy" sketch last Fall, shortly followed by the "Creature Boy" painting seen below. Not sure what inspired the idea other than the fact that I was getting into the Halloween spirit and that I miss Big Boy and eat there when I can (which is pretty much once a year).

Both of these are acrylic on blotter paper, 8.5" x 11".
