Also known as the Man From Another Place and Killer Bob. Any fan of Twin Peaks will understand why it's not only creepy that these two share a birthday, but the fact that it happens to fall on Halloween is just downright chilling and bizarre.
On a technical note, I'm really tired of caricatures that use big heads on small bodies and I try to steer away from it whenever possible. I started with Little Mike and liked the way he turned out, but then I had to cram in Killer Bob, and had to resort to the small body hoopla.
While digging around on youtube, I found a clip I had never seen before. The fun part comes in at 1:22.
And here's one of my favorite Bob moments from the show. Very brief, but I always got a kick out of it.
No, I am NOT a fan. But I am a fan of celebrity meltdowns. In case you are one of the few unfortunate ones who never got to see this gold nugget, here it is...
Former frontman of The Cars turns 60 today. Another one of those guys who has so much to work with that I pretty much choke with all the decision making. It's also hard for me to tell if I got him because I'm not used to seeing him without his sunglasses, and I don't even know why I chose to leave them out. It's like seeing Space Mountain with the lights on.
If I were a little younger and didn't know any better, I might think ("You Might Think"?) The Cars would be a corny and lazy name for a band to give themselves. But little would I know, their music defines "cool" so much that it doesn't matter.
The whole punching the tooth out idea was a complete afterthought. I know I should have tilted Rod's head and made his mouth and facial muscles more crooked to better sell the gag. That's what I get for being a wuss and being too comfortable with the likeness in the sketch phase and unwilling to erase.
